Salem Community College Glass Education Center's
November Glass Workshops, Open House, and Sale!
Salem Community College welcomes the public to the Samuel H. Jones Glass Education Center on Sunday, November 20th, for an afternoon of glass.
Admission to the Glass Education Center and the sale is free. The SCC's Glass Club's sale will feature handmade glass items including pumpkins, flowers, jewelry, vases and paperweights from 12:00 p.m. to 4 p.m. While visiting the center, guests may check out the studio and see glassmaking in action.
Also on November 20th, the glass center will be running several hands on workshops. No glass experience is necessary, but please note minimum age requirements for each experience. Click on the link below for details and registration.

Hands on Glass Experiences!
Available Workshops:
Fused Glass Lantern*, 1.5 hour session from 12:30pm to 2:00pm, or 2:30pm to 4pm, $75.00 per person- Participants will create a lantern that will feature glass panels of their own creation by layering pieces of flat glass and heating them in a kiln. Ages 4 and up. Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Flameworked Pendants (hanging beads), 3 hour session from 1pm-4pm, $60.00 per person- Attendees use heat, gravity and simple tools to create their very own glass pendants at the torch. Ages 10 and up. Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Blown Glass Pumpkin*, 1.5 hour sessions between 12:00pm-1:30pm, or 2:30pm-4pm, $75.00- Participants will create a glass pumpkin from the glass furnace in our glassblowing studio! Ages 14 and up. Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
(*Due to the process, items will need to be picked up at a later date, or can be shipped for an additional fee.)
